17 being on finding solutions to issues identified. Partners have managed to engage more than 700 migrant women in these workshops. In line with the interests shown in the micro-social networks above, a range of themes have been chosen to achieve engagement at the workshops, including: • Connecting with local culture, including through the use of food and an opportunity to participate in traditional local activities; • Community Family focused events, including a pirate family fun day and international picnic; • Mindfulness and Story-telling workshops; and • Celebrating Migrant Women events as a recognition of what has been achieved. Case Studies for INTEGR8 participants The following presents short Case Studies for migrant women that participated in the MIE Curriculum training. In some instances, details have been changed to protect their identity. Michelle K French is a 46 year-old woman of Jamaican origin who came to Ireland 17 years ago in search of a better life. Whilst being able to work in Ireland has been great for her, she took time to adjust to her new culture, the people and how she fitted in, including experiencing racism for the first time. Michelle moved from Dublin to Meath and had felt isolated in her new location. She wanted to join a women’s group and to feel a part of the local community. She has found this from her involvement in the Project, making new friends and connecting on a personal level with the other women on the MIE training workshops. Michelle has learned that there are many similarities between migrant women and Irish women, including the issues they face. Her involvement with the Project has taken Michelle outside of her comfort zone, and she is looking forward to applying what she has learned to help other women, something she would not have thought she could do before. The support she receives from the other women has been crucial, where they can discuss common issues faced as well as creating micro-social networks to support other women. She is more confident about her future thanks to the INTEGR8 Project and she now wants to support other women to achieve the same. Michelle has said ‘I
